Kimi to Koi ni Ochiru Mahou de

Ousawa Miko is a 16-year-old girl who loves bread. Especially when it's shaped cutely! One day she decides to apply for a job at St. Molly's bread store, but when she gets there, the person who hires her on is a cute boy her age! Although he makes fun of Miko's clumsiness, he seems to be genuinely kind. But when they find out they're neighbors, they grow even closer.

It was okay, I sped through it, I wouldn't read it twice.

Hitoribocchi wa Samishikute

Shio has no friends and is known as a devil, because she often writes something in her notebook.
Though, no one has seen what she has written in it. Until that day....

To tell the truth, it's very cute at times (both the art and some of the story) but I didn't quite enjoy it. Reason one being that most of the story relies heavily on Shio's beautiful singing and other music and it's very hard to imagine. And reason two being that it's one of those reckless teenage stories of rebelling against parents and "the man" and the school and grown ups in general. As a teenager I've felt oppressed by adults on multiple occasions but I still can't fully support a story of teenage rebellion and disrespect.

Whispers of the Heart

Whispers of the Heart (Mimi wo Sumaseba)

Shizuku Tsukishima loves books. One day, she notices that the name Seiji Amasawa appears on the checkout cards of nearly every book she's borrowed! Before she realizes it, her heart is pounding for a boy she's never met...and that's when a mysterious black cat and Shizuku's sense of wonder guide her to an unusual shop--and introduce her to someone she's been curious to meet! Amazing things can happen...when you listen to your heart.

Not exactly like the movie. In so many ways a lot better! Although I adore the movie as well.

Whispers of the Heart II (Shiawase na Jikan)

A sequel to the manga that was made into a movie, "Shiawase na Jikan" is comprised of two stories. The first is a continuation of the first book, two years into the future, and Shizuku is now preparing for her entrance exams. The second story, "Kikyou no Saku Koko" (The Blooming of the Balloon Flowers), is an unrelated original story. Tsuge Takayuki is a normal college boy, who, one day, sees a girl admiring the flowers in his front yard, and was reminded of a girl who stood by the flowers one year ago, crying in the rain. He falls in love with her, but will her injured heart accept his feelings?

Dreams, Careers, Aspirations

Shutter Love

Ever loved taking photos? For Maki taking photos is as natural as breathing, yet she does not dream of becoming a pro. One day her carefree approach to photography is going to change, as she encounters a rival not only in taking photos...

Opinion
It was pretty unique, the story line...not the best. The art was beautiful. By the same mangaka who wrote Suppli.

See You In Eden

This is a story about Tamako's 3 years at an art highschool. It's a story about her struggle to improve her art and prove her worth and make difficult decisions about the future.

Opinion
No romance, but it was really nice. I felt at the end like I just had finished reading a long deep novel. The story gives you that feeling you get when you are about to leave high school and you don't know what awaits you afterwards.

Chuo-sen Cinema Paradise

A boy who was a child actor can no longer act without knowing "what it takes to be a good actor". For five years he looked for his answer. Will his encounter with a weird girl help him find it?

Shuukatsu!! - Kimi ni Naitei

This story is about a young woman who is in her last year of college and is job hunting...unsuccessfully. On her 50th job interview, she meets a guy who was also interviewing but was super confident and great during his interview. After bumping into him again later on the train she wonders if she will ever see him again because even though he slightly annoyed her, she couldn't help be mesmerized by him.

Opinion
I loooved it! LOOVED IT! Because it doesn't only focus only on the romance and I think it's a pretty original story line. =) But sorry if two volumes is not considered a one shot...

Mahou no Te ni Notte

The one thing in the world that Satsuki would like to do is become a hairstylist that could bring out the natural beauty of a person the way Hayama Ryuichi did. Determined, Satsuki decides to ask Ryuichi if she could work at his shop in order to learn the trade. Working besides her idol, she learns a bit more than hair-matters.

The Reverie of the Red Shoes

What happens when you trade your soul for material goods? Is there a way for redemption? A spin off from the classic tale "Red Shoes," this is the story of a woman's obsession with worldly goods and the consequences of that foolish desire.

Opinion
I don't even remember what happened anymore. It was either super super short or it didn't even leave an impression.

Fukugaeru

An office lady is kinda tired with the life she leads. She thinks back to a life changing decision she had to make in her past when her long time boyfriend asked her to marry him and she had to choose between being a house wife or her new job she was very passionate about. She chose the job instead of her boyfriend. But now she wonders if she made the right choice. She buys a frog statue at a store (since she collects frogs) and the frog comes to life and tells her that he will grant her wish!

Opinion
I liked it! Very different so very good! And it shows you how you should be satisfied with what you have.

Vitamin

By the manga-ka who wrote LIFE. This story deals with severe bullying. It's a manga for mature readers only. It's a very powerful story that will leave your heart shaken up. The heroine is filled with courage and strength.
After seeing her in a compromising position with her boyfriend, Sawako's classmates all turn against her. Even her close friends and her so called boyfriend. With a mother who expects only the best from her and a teacher who doesn't want to get his hands dirty, what will save Sawako when her life turns into a living hell?

Opinion
5 stars. Must read. Again, only for mature readers.
