It was an unbelievably sweet and warm story. It's a story of not many words but it teaches a lesson of human understanding and kindness.

This follows the adventures of a weird girl named Yotsuba whose bizarre antics baffle her friends and her father.

Kinderbook

An anthology of ten short stories, all done in the Nouvelle Manga style. Each story stands alone, the only things linking them all being the low-key slice-of-life settings and the fact that they all have a female protagonist including a young child facing the break-up of her family and separation from her friends; a lonely divorcee managing a bar; an elderly art dealer in the process of retiring; a mistress and her lover rehearsing their mutual suicide; an adulterous wife; a teenage girl on the day of her graduation from high school and the author herself (appearing in a couple of autobiographical pieces).

Kingdom of Stars

Murata was given a star pendant when he was small that he associated with good luck. In his last year of high school, when he is worrying about college entrance exams, the girl who sat a few seats in front of him returns the star he had misplaced to him and tells him she's happy to meet another believer of Melita-sama.

Slice of life with a young couple, Inoue Meiko and Taneda Shigeo, and how everyday occurrences affect their lives. Meiko begins contemplating whether freedom without purpose is really the same thing as boredom.

She Got Off the Bus at the Peninsula

Mitsuko Kunizaki has inherited a small grocery store from her grandmother. Being a single mother to a little boy, she intends to close it down and move on with life. However, in the solitary store that sits next to the last bus stop at the tip of a peninsula lie some long-buried memories that slowly reemerge as Mitsuko arrives at what used to be her home—memories of a lonesome childhood and of people who came to the peninsula to end their lives.

Mitsuko, it is alluded, can see ghosts. It was a very interesting read.
